- (112b) Heat Transfer Improvement in the Concentrator System
In study we analyze, model and develop solutions to improve the performance of heat exchangers that are a part the larger system used to increase solution concentration. Concentration is done via pressurizing and heating of solution followed by the drop of pressure to induce vapor generation (flash) in a separating vessel. Heating of solution is done in two exchangers connected in series which needed performance improvement to support plant production increase. We present the analysis of the exchanger system, methodology for its modeling in Aspen and its validation using plant data. Specific solutions leading to increased heat duty in exchanger are also discussed.
