(143c) Managing Your Career---A Lifelong Journey
A successful and satisfying career in chemical engineering can best be achieved by continuously managing/updating your career goals and taking the necessary actions to achieve those goals. This topic is frequently discussed with a focus on the early stages of your career. Less focus is paid as you move to the middle and late stages of your career. Careful career management is just as important during the latter stages of your career.
In this presentation I will share my experiences and best practices from a career in process development, process engineering and leadership roles over 25 years. Ten best practices will be reviewed with personal examples and the impact they had on my career. These practices will be discussed in context of their application at early/mid/late stages of your career.
