- (123a) Considerations for Combined Cycle Applications in LNG Plants
When the energy is recovered from the combined cycle process, it can be used in either the steam form or in the gaseous form. In steam form, there are various possibilities in using the steam to generate horsepower or for an assistant energy input for a driver. In gaseous form, this can be utilized in supplying extra gas turbine drivers for the liquefaction of the feed natural gas.
In this paper we will discuss the pro-and-con of this and offer further considerations. Combined cycle gas turbine will be used more in future LNG plants and we should be aware of their potentials in its applications.
