(108e) Project Management: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The purpose of this presentation is to illustrate project management as a construction manager or onsite project manager.  Understanding the relationships between the owner, contractor and engineer is a key concept in project management that is understated.  This presentation will go over key tools to help communication and documentation to strengthen these relationships.  This presentation will also review proper techniques for reviewing construction budgets and schedules and ensuring that the owner is getting their money’s worth.  This talk summarizes the experience of a design engineer, construction manager and contractor with construction projects in the private and federal world.  It is not project specific and is applicable to all forms of construction.
