(81b) Design Approaches for Unconventional Gas Processing
Design Approaches for Unconventional Gas Processing
Membrane systems are well suited to remove CO2 and water to pipeline specifications although many people still consider membranes to be an “unconventional” technology. When applied to processing unconventional gas such as North American shale gas, membrane systems can offer distinct advantages.
This presentation will discuss the technology within membrane systems and present a case study from a gas plant that has been using membranes to process shale gas for the past 18 years. The presentation includes discussions on membrane theory and applications as well as discussion of a cost and benefit analysis comparing the use of membranes with Amine systems in unconventional shale gas applications.
