(10a) New Tools and Skills for Project Managers

This presentation will be a survey of new tools and skills for project management. Two examples of practical new tools to be shared are project pre-mortems and multi-discipline interface management on large engineering projects. In addition, the presentation will contain practical tips on working with Generation Y, enhancing your emotional intelligence as well as other soft skills needed for managing projects. Emphasis will be placed on sharing best practices from project management in non-process industry arena and how they can be applied to improve capital project management in the process industry.
