(220b) Ethylene Plant Contaminants: A Database and Interactive Tool

Numerous papers on a variety of contaminants have been presented over the years at the Ethylene Producer Conference (EPC). The Feedstock Contaminants Subcommittee felt the need to provide a tool to the practitioners in the Ethylene Industry for effectively extracting information contained within all those papers. As such, a Microsoft Excel database with a search engine based on ethylene plant area and contaminants user selection; generate a summary report on the contaminant sources, removal techniques, impacts on plant safety, operation and product quality. The report also provides references to papers previously published at the EPC with hyperlink to their location on the EPC website. This paper describes the architecture and functionality of the Excel database along with a few application examples.
