The Louisiana Petrochemical Megasite Project is an initiative funded by Louisiana Economic Development (LED). This project is being undertaken by the Center for Business and Information Technologies (CBIT) at the University of Louisiana. This project is designed to lay the Foundations for a State initiative establishing a Louisiana Petrochemical Megasite. The Project has thus far, examined nine Megasites around the world. It has also surveyed the petrochemical industry on its joint venture experiences. From these studies, together with our industry partners, the factors fostering Megasite success have been distilled. The project then analyzed the infrastructure and policies of the State to see how Louisiana compares. Currently, the team has an economic feasibility study underway and is preparing a policy and implementation roadmap for establishing a Petrochemical Megasite in Louisiana.
