This paper describes the best practices for the scheduling and performing of PHAs/HAZOPs, etc., during various key phases of major projects. The paper will outline the scope and content of each project phase hazard review and what the outcomes should be. The concepts are not new, but many contractors and vendors around the world do not seem to understand the concepts well. The paper will present the basics, and then show best practices and examples from various companies. The paper will also outline how information related to process safety should be developed during and then delivered from a major project.
