(89b) Fabrication of Discotic Colloids through Electrospray

In this study, we pressent a novel mass production method of discotic wax particles using electrospray. The 1-eicosene wax was melt and added with an electrical conductive additive to increase its electric conductivity. Liquid wax was then flow through a metallic nozzle with applied high voltage, and broke into fine droplets, which were collected using SDS aqueous solution. After storage at 4 C for several weeks, wax particles experienced a shape transition into microdisks.
