(189d) LNG and Safety Concerns

The paper presents conclusions from a workshop organised by the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, held in Vancouver, B.C., September 11-14 2005.

The themes that were discussed during the workshop follow:

? What is at stakes for industry, governments, non governmental organisations and communities; ? Planning and siting LNG terminals; ? Prevention, preparedness, response and recovery; and, ? Risks for the public.

The conclusions from this workshop bring additional elements that should be considered during the risk evaluation of these infrastructures.
