Flow Assurance

An overview of hydrates in flow assurance will be given relative to waxes other problems, showing how knowledge developed. Three hydrate flow assurance paradigm changes will be discussed: from 1) Apprehension, to 2) Avoidance, to 3) Risk Management with the attendant technologies. A brief review of hydrate flow assurance papers from the 7th International Gas Hydrates Conference (July 2011, Edinburgh) will be given. Suggestions will be given for extending Flow Assurance technology to Well Blowout Containment.
