Session: Towards Green Crystallization and Precipitation Processes

In recent years, process sustainability had become an integral part of process development objectives, driven by increasing awareness about the environmental impact of chemical industry. This session covers studies aimed at improving process sustainability of particle formation processes. We welcome abstracts including, but not limited to: (1) Novel or improved (existing) particle formation technologies aimed at improving sustainability of chemical separations; (2) studies dealing with improving sustainability and process intensification for crystallizations and precipitations; (3) crystallization/precipitation studies dealing with the isolation of critical materials for a sustainable future (e.g. battery recycling, water treatment and desalination, processing industrial waste, etc.); (4) low solvent or green solvent processes, including crystallization/precipitation from the melt or from supercritical fluids, and (5) Lessons learned from literature (e.g. Evolution of sustainability in crystallization process development, metrics, trends, etc.)
