Session: Cybersecurity Enhancement for the Fuel and Petrochemical Industries

The fuel and petrochemical industries face unique cybersecurity challenges due to their complex operational technology (OT) environments, critical infrastructure, and the increasing convergence of IT and OT systems. This session will explore enhancement strategies and best practices to address these challenges, drawing upon recent research and industry front-line experience. Topics covered include: risk assessment and threat modeling specific to the operations; securing industrial control systems (ICS) such as SCADA, DCS, and PLCs; leveraging AI and machine learning for threat detection and real-time response; addressing the unique security challenges posed by AI integration in the enterprise; and building a resilient cybersecurity culture through education, workforce training, and incident response preparedness.
