(466c) Using New Tricks to Help Old Dogs: How Technology Helped Explain a Decades-Old Incident.

In this session, the application of Residue Curve mapping, a technology targeting distillation and process synthesis, to a 1960 explosion will show how advances in analytical methods can be applied in unique ways to help understand historical process safety events. Dr. Siirola was instrumental in both the development of the technique, and the analysis of the incident in question.
