(528e) Tom Edgar: Teacher, Department Chair, Research Colleague, Friend

In this talk, I draw upon my experiences first as an undergraduate student in the chemical engineering department at the University of Texas taking classes from Tom Edgar and working as an undergraduate in his research group. From there I returned to the department as an assistant professor with Tom as my department chair. Together we started an industrial research consortium that is still in operation today. From these many personal and professional experiences over many years, I will illustrate how Tom influenced me and my career in profound ways.
