This talk will discuss the contributions of Professor Cohen on optimal operation and control of
integrated ultra-filtration/water desalination process systems. The talk will start with Professor Cohen's work on the determination of energy optimal operating recoveries for water desalination, elaborate on his novel ultra-filtration operating strategies and conclude with an overview of the experimental implementation of the approaches to lab-scale and pilot-scale integrated ultra-filtration/water desalination systems.
