This talk will present several novel non-chromatographic processes for the downstream bioprocessing of gene therapy agents. Affinity precipitation of AAVs using smart biopolymer affinity ligand conjugates will be presented and its utility for the separation from complex feed stocks will be demonstrated. In addition, purification of mRNA from both process and product related impurities will be demonstrated using a new non-chromatographic approach and its efficacy for use in continuous mRNA bioprocessing will be examined.
