The dilute acidic chemicals will seriously affect the oil quality and its reaction performance. Alkali washing, as one of the most widely applied deacidification methods, faces two critical problems: too much alkali consumption and low separation efficiency. Balancing efficient microdispersion at the high phase ratio and rapid phase separation remains a great challenge. This work integrates the micro-capillary jetting dispersion technology, which can realize efficient generation of microdroplets without the restriction of phase ratio, with a short millimeter column and develops a short-contact oil deacidification technology. We have achieved more than 99% deacidification efficiency, and the total volume mass transfer coefficient is up to 4.68 s-1 at a phase ratio of 300 over a wide range of acid concentrations (200~5000 ppm). Besides, we have verified that it is applicable in various acid removal processes. Integrating efficient microdispersion, stable two-phase flow, and rapid phase separation in a single short-contact device, it shows great potential in intensifying deacidification on a large scale.
