Author
Erik Einset - Presenter, Engineering Tomorrow
Engineering Tomorrow, a non-profit founded in 2014, aims to address the critical shortage of engineers by inspiring a diverse high school community to explore the exciting opportunities and careers an engineering education can offer. Through engaging labs based on today’s global issues and new technologies, the organization introduces students to various engineering fields and challenges including access to clean water, renewable energy, electric vehicles, decarbonization and green hydrogen, machine learning and 3D printing. By offering no-cost labs nationwide through a combination of free lab kits, live engagement with professional engineers, and speakers who are leaders in their field, our goal is to diversify the engineering workforce and fill the future engineering workforce pipeline. In this talk, we will discuss how our model works and how it may be expanded to provide support to students by facilitating “real-world” problem solving and experiences.
