(170c) Elevating User Choice: Achieving Deeper Customization in Additive Manufacturing

Author

As additive manufacturing continues to evolve, the demand for greater user control over a product's final aesthetics and characteristics is rapidly increasing. While traditional manufacturing methods, such as injection molding, offer broad scope for user-driven attributes, 3D printing has historically faced limitations in delivering comparable levels of customization for end-use parts, particularly concerning the material being printed. This presentation details a novel project aimed at significantly expanding the scope of user-driven personalization in 3D printing applications, thereby bringing it closer to the versatility seen in established production processes.
