(174c) Building Concepts and Confidence in Chemical Engineering Education Using Process Simulation

Authors

Andrew Paluch - Presenter, Miami University
One of the biggest challenges in undergraduate chemical engineering education is not only understanding complex concepts but also applying this knowledge to real-world problem solving. Students often have gaps in understanding and knowledge of engineering fundamentals, which can hinder progress in senior design courses. This talk will demonstrate how incorporating process simulation software throughout chemical engineering courses not only helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application but, because these tools are used by engineers in industry, better prepares students for successful careers in engineering.
