(576e) Application of Loss-in-Weight Feeder Upgrades in Commercial Scale Continuous Oral Solid Dosage Manufacturing

Application of loss-in-weight feeder upgrades in commercial scale continuous oral solid dosage manufacturing

Powder feeding is often the first process in continuous oral solid dosage manufacturing. A consistent, precise, and controllable feeding procedure is the key to ensuring that the correct ratio of components are dosed into the process and all subsequent unit operations produce their desired outputs. This ultimately ensures that the product potency is on target. This presentation will introduce key features of newly-installed and upgraded feeders. The case study shows how the new features improve production change-over times, increase efficiency, and expand the range of compounds considered feasible for continuous manufacturing.
