(282e) Accelerating the Circular Economy through AI-Powered Material Intelligence

As industries push toward net zero goals and circular economy models, one of the most persistent challenges is the lack of data and visibility into the material streams that underpin manufacturing, recycling, and waste management. At Visia, we’re building AI-powered material intelligence systems that give operators real-time insight into the composition, chemistry, and safety of complex secondary materials streams. Our platform combines cutting-edge X-ray imaging with machine learning to identify inbound materials, particularly hazardous ones like lithium-ion batteries, before they enter downstream processes. Inbound analysis not only prevents fires and contamination but also improves resource recovery and operational efficiency across facilities handling electronic, industrial, and municipal waste.

This talk will explore the critical role of data in driving sustainability throughout core industrial operations. Drawing on case studies from large-scale deployments, we’ll highlight how industrial leaders can champion digital transformation to meet EPR, ESG, and decarbonization goals. The presentation will also cover best practices to align technical innovation with regulatory frameworks and build scalable partnerships across the circular economy.
