(527b) 25 Years of CoMSEF

Author

Sapna Sarupria - Presenter, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
CoMSEF is still focused on computational molecular sciences and their engineering applications, but those areas and the organization have evolved over 25 years. When it launched in 2000, it was mainly a collaborative programming body, taking the lead to set up jointly sponsored sessions with other programming groups. It has been closely involved with CACHE's triennial FOMMS conferences since they began in 2000. Along the way, it has introduced mid-career, young-investigator, post-doc, and graduate student awards to highlight career growth and achievements. An important spin-off has been the weeklong iCoMSE summer schools, a vital activity for educating new researchers.
