Session: The Revolution Before the Revolution: Technology Leadership in Quantum Computing

Recent advances in technology have allowed for the promise of quantum technologies to begin taking shape across a variety of industries, ranging from cybersecurity and supply chain logistics to accelerating R&D research and discovery. Quantum computing creates the potential to solve problems intractable by classical computing methods. Currently at the critical inflection point between R&D project and commercial scale operations, this discussion introduces quantum computing to the chemical engineering industry, reviews the current state of quantum simulation and standards, and how to lead the transition to this technology, from startups to established enterprises.
