This session invites papers discussing the operation and management of energy systems, including but not limited to energy conversion, power generation and distribution, renewable energy systems, integrated heat recovery, energy storage, and the production of fuels of various types (e.g., conventional, synthetic, biofuels, alternative), to name but a few. Whereas aspects of system design are often important to account for, the focus should be on the efficiencies, limitations and opportunities arising from the operation of these systems, sector coupling, autonomy, risks, climate-driven factors and others. The time horizons of interest may span the full spectrum from day-to-day operational scope to long-term strategic scope.
