The Purdue Center for Operations and Optimization in Process Systems (COOPS) is at the forefront of transforming the field of process systems engineering. By leveraging cutting-edge research and fostering innovation, COOPS aims to enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and safety of various industries.
Our center focuses on:
- conducting state-of-the-art research combining modeling and theoretical studies to solve complex systems engineering problems
- engaging students at all levels (undergraduate, MS, and PhD) in hands-on research and specialized courses to prepare the next generation of leaders in PSE
- providing expert consultation and innovative solutions for industrial challenges, ensuring our research to have practical impact
- collaborate with other faculty and departments in Purdue University to promote interdisciplinary research and education
Our mission is to drive innovation and excellence in various critical areas, including process operations and control, scheduling, smart manufacturing, crystallization, predictive maintenance, energy systems optimization, life cycle analysis, process design, supply chain optimization, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.
