Compacted aluminum oxide, or "Alumina" tablets, are commonly used as catalyst support to facilitate efficient chemical processes. We investigated the effect of moisture content on various types of alumina tablets and found that elevating the moisture content of the granulated alumina up to 20% w/w will increase the mechanical properties of the tablets, such as hardness, Young's modulus, and tensile strength. Furthermore, heating the tablets will alter these mechanical properties.
