In this presentation, I will summarize Jeff Reimer’s accomplishments and contributions in three areas – as a scholar in the development and application of NMR techniques for the characterization of materials, as a teacher of chemical engineering principles, and as a leader through his service as department Chair. Having known Jeff from the start of his career at Berkeley, I have had the unique experience of working with him on research and holding many discussions with him regarding the stewardship of our department, the latter during some of the most challenging years of its life. I will also share my views on Jeff’s interactions with the members of his research group, the students in his courses, and the members of our faculty community.
