All-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs) have attracted great attention as replacements for the flammable liquid electrolyte in current Lithium-ion batteries. However, ASSLBs suffer either sluggish charge transfer or poor solid-solid contact, which impedes them to achieve electrochemical performance comparable to liquid batteries. Conductive polyimide (CPI) owns high modulus and superior thermostability, which are crucial characteristics for upgrading the physiochemical performance of ASSLBs. Here, a series of CPIs are prepared as novel binders for ASSLBs, which could mitigate the cathode degradation, promote the formation of robust cathode surface structure, and accelerate the transferability of Li+-ion. This design allows a promising route for improving the cycling stability, enhancing the safety operation, achieving high mass loadings, and promoting ionic transfer in ASSLBs.
