Particle-based therapeutics are promising for enhancing drug efficacy while minimizing systemic side effects. Our research is dedicated to elucidating the role of particle geometry, deformability, material chemistry, and blood rheology/dynamics on the interactions of vascular-targeted drug carriers in blood flow. In this presentation, we will shed light on the intricate interplay between drug carriers and blood cells, focusing on their influence on drug carrier binding to the vascular wall and their effects on critical neutrophil functions, both for active and passive applications in the treatment of various inflammatory diseases.
