(312b) Understanding Process Dynamics and Control over Multiple Length and Time Scales

Prof. Daoutidis has made fundamental contributions to understand plant-wide dynamics and control for processes with material and energy integration, features that appear prominently in modern chemical plants. His group developed innovative methods for revealing the connections between process structure and process dynamics, optimization and control. In this presentation we will review some of these results and explore their implications in energy and decarbonization, and discuss applications in production scheduling, demand response, and process electrification.
