(296f) Hydrogen Supply Scale-up Solutions for Industrial Decarbonization

Power generating processes are some of the most common in industry today. Impactful scope 1 emissions reduction can be achieved through their decarbonization. Hydrogen is a powerful scalable enabler of decarbonization of industrial power generating processes. For decarbonization goals to be successful, it is critical to understand appropriate supply solutions to optimally unlock the scalability potential of hydrogen. We will discuss new innovations to enable the decarbonization of boilers and power generators such as gas turbines. We also will discuss supply chain optimization to maximize the benefit of the traditional utilities listed above plus distributed energy/micro-grid processes such as internal combustion engines and fuel cells. In each scenario, we will consider operational requirements, opportunities for incremental reduction of emissions enabled through hydrogen, supply mode applicability, consistency, and redundancy for sustained reliable performance.
