(238b) Development of Ru-Based Electrocatalysts for Hydrogen Oxidation Reaction in Alkaline Media

The reaction kinetics of hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) in alkaline solutions is much slower than that in acidic media for noble metals like Pt and Pd. At low pH, Ru is not stable even at low potentials, which prevents it from being used as the main components in proton exchange membrane fuel cells. However, it can be much more stable at high pH. In this talk, I will present some recent progress in my lab developing Ru-based electrocatalysts and their fuel cell performance.
