(123a) Creating a New Circular Carbon Economy via Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage

Author

Park, A. H. A. - Presenter, Columbia University
Direct air capture of carbon dioxide and negative emission technologies, including bioenergy with carbon capture and storage and sustainable construction materials with low carbon intensity is a promising route to changing how we use carbon and eventually helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. This presentation will discuss several projects we are working on including the efforts of GreenOre CleanTech, a startup that transforms the hard-to-decarbonize industrial sector’s solid wastes and carbon emissions into value-added products, such as carbon-negative building materials, while recovering energy-relevant critical minerals. I will also discuss a collaboration with UN Women, a United Nations initiative, on a project supporting entrepreneurship in sustainable energy in developing countries.
