(414h) Transition of Computational Software in ChE over the Past Four Decades

This presentation will focus on use of flowsheet simulator such as Aspen plus, mathematical packages such as a matlab and languages such as pyhton in Chemical Engineering programs in the past 40 years. This will reflect experience in my home institution enriched by sabbatical experiences at US and abroad as well as shared practices in the peer community/organizations. Teaching capstone design series as well as systems/math related courses allow holistic perpective. The curricular implications, faculty buy-in and student perfonmance will be discussed as well as their evolution over time.
