(35c) Ten years at PTF: Connect fundamental research with industrial scale problem solving

In this talk, I will share my great experience with the Particle Technology Forum (PTF) of AIChE in the past decade and how PTF helped me transform from an academic researcher to an industrial practitioner in the chemical industry. I will present a few examples how the Dow Solids Processing R&D team utilized the process fundamentals and lab scale research to address full production scale challenges by collaborating with academic partners, manufacturing engineers, and even marketing specialists. The topics span from particle segregation in packaging and product design, gas-solids flow dynamics in cross-flow moving packed bed reactors, and solids flow in production-scale hoppers.
