Studying the Effect of Transport on Drug Distribution in Tumor Models

This project focused on developing baselines for commercially available drugs and their impact
on tumor models as well as developing baselines for commercially available drugs and their impact on tumor models. This was done in an effort to develop more accurate drug delivery methods for chemotherapeutics. Testing was done with free Doxorubicin and Cisplatin as well as Doxorubicin and Cisplatin loaded into pH responsive-liposomes, using spheroids as tumor models. After being incubated with drugs, spheroids were then monitored for changes in shape and size as well as possibility of recurrence. While my timein the lab is finished, ongoing research includes further testing of different liposome compositions as well as testing with mice and rabbits.
