Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) frameworks are increasingly being explored for the synthesis of porous organic polymers (POP). Presented in this study, a novel heptazine-based POSS network with high cross-linking was synthesized to achieve a highly stable hybrid POP. The synthesized framework porosity and morphology were extensively characterized using techniques such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area analysis, deeming the structure useful for high carbon dioxide uptake capacity for adsorption.
