(348g) Parallel and GPU Computing with Matlab and Simulink for Chemical Engineering
Chemical engineers work with computationally intensive problems including process systems simulations, transport phenomena, molecular dynamics simulations, process optimizations and data-driven modeling efforts. As the scale of the problems increase, storing data in a memory-friendly way and scaling up computations to additional computer cores, clusters or cloud-based platforms becomes necessary.
In this talk, we will discuss ways to utilize GPUs, cloud-based platforms and parallel computing with MATLAB and Simulink. We will demonstrate its applications to chemical engineering space through industrial user stories and examples drawn from the process industries.
