(345b) Machine Learning Algorithms for the Classification and Prediction of Cancerous Tumors
With cancers being one of the main causes of death in todayâs society, research in this field has considerably increased over the past decades. One way to improve the recovery chances in patients is its early detection. However, cancer diagnosis on tumors is often complicated as it is left to the discretion of the practitioners. Therefore, with the increase in Machine Learning Algorithms in computer sciences, the improvement of early diagnosis is now at reach. Here, we use a Convolutional Neural Network for the classification of tumors. In turn, this allows for rapid analysis of large amounts of data with an accuracy that can reach the same level as the one of practitioners. Then, our model is optimized in order to produce the most accurate results possible while avoiding overfitting.
