(462f) Steal This Curriculum-Wide Design Project: The HDA Process
Author
Imagine a design project that spans not just a single term, but the full curriculum. Students are introduced to a full industrial process in their first course, assuming ideal systems and identifying points of interest for future design optimization. In every subsequent course, the students analyze the same process - modifying, adapting, and incorporating that courseâs subject material. By the time the students are in their senior capstone design course, theyâve already been exposed to the full design protocol and are ready to apply that knowledge to more complex or modern processes. In this talk, this vertically integrated curriculum design project is outlined in context to the HDA process for benzene production.
