(371d) Area 15C Bioengineering Plenary Award: Adventures in the Engineering of Oxidoreductase Enzymes

Author

Banta, S. - Presenter, Columbia University
Oxidoreductase enzymes catalyze a wide range of reactions where electrons are transferred from one molecule to another. These enzymes are involved in a wide range of critical metabolic functions and are also frequently employed in bioengineering applications such as biosensors, biocatalysis, and synthetic biology. In this talk I will highlight contributions from my lab on the engineering of cofactor and substrate specificity, the engineering of new electron transfer mechanisms, and the engineering of oxidoreductases for emerging bioengineering applications.
