Session: Numerical Analyses of Mixing Processes in Bioreactors

This session will focus on using numerical tools such as CFD to analyze mixing phenomena in bioreactors, including kinetics and multiphase interactions. Subjects include CFD simulation of bioreactors as well as experimental investigations. Detailed investigations of multiphase flow, heat transfer and mass transfer are considered. Simulations that include continuous phase as well as the discrete phases of bubbles and particles will be presented.
