2019 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Metabolic Engineering: Emerging Tools and Technologies

Metabolic engineering is the targeted improvement of the cellular metabolic phenotype using recombinant DNA technology. The process of design and construction of these systems poses major challenges, owing to the complexity of biology. However, emerging computational and experimental tools have enabled the rapid construction of increasingly complex biological systems with predictable behaviors. This session will cover the development and application of these tools to the diverse topics of metabolic engineering.
