Session: Managing in the High Tech World

From the tools we use to the way we work, working as an engineer in today’s world is an exciting time. Day-to-day task requires collaboration with teams across the world, in different time zones with different cultural expectations. Software are being developed to make life easier (or more difficult). The engineering landscape is changing very fast and engineers have to adapt just as quickly to have a successful career. In this session, we will be reviewing the high tech mode of interactions between People, Machine and the Environment in today’s world. We will also explore how to manage people in today’s high tech world when your team might have a different viewpoint from you both literally and figuratively: exploring experiences working and managing teams remotely, from teleconferencing to videoconferencing to virtual reality meetings.
