This keynote talk discusses how chemical engineering is applied to solve major environmental issues in the waste and environmental research/management field, specifically in the waste storage, treatment and disposal within the U.S. Department of Energy complex. Participation of national laboratories, and collaboration with academic researchers will be presented.
