2019 AIChE Annual Meeting

Session: Biomaterials for Immunological Applications

This session will highlight recent advances in the immunological applications of biomaterials. Submissions covering innate and adaptive immune strategies are welcome. Relevant topics include but are not limited to novel biomaterial interactions with the immune system, biomaterials for vaccines or antimicrobial applications, immunosuppressive strategies, controlled release of immunomodulatory agents (including antigens, cytokines, chemokines, immunosuppressive agents, etc.), immune cell activation or differentiation strategies, biomimetic strategies, and detection strategies for varying immunological functions. Topics in cancer immunotherapy, autoimmune therapy, and tolerance induction are also desirable. Graduate Students: By applying to this session you may be eligible for the Biomaterials Graduate Student Award Session established to honor the best graduate student submissions through recognition and cash awards. See the session titled 'Biomaterials: Graduate Student Award Session' for details.
