(329e) The 4th Edition of Chemical Process Safety, Fundamentals with Applications

It has been almost 30 years since the first edition of Chemical Process Safety, Fundamentals with Applications was published in 1990. The second edition was published in 2002 and the third edition in 2012. The fourth edition will be published in May of 2019 and is a major revision - several chapters were completely rewritten and almost all chapters heavily revised.

This paper will discuss the original intent and history of the textbook. In addition, it will present details on the 4th edition, including new content that was added and content that was removed. We believe the 4th edition realigns the textbook with current process safety concepts and practices and provides an even more meaningful learning experience for engineering undergraduates.
